About
Typeface from warning sings, as it was fired in the furnace.
Manual Pozor Round is a caps-only, utilitarian geometric sans-serif typeface with soft terminals primarily intended for display use consisting of 7 styles ranging from Thin to Black, with no contrast and narrow width.
Manual Pozor Round supports Basic Latin and Extended Latin and covers over 100 languages. With total of 237 glyphs, it includes the default set of proportional lining figures.
Manual Pozor Round (“pozor” is Slovak for “warning”) is a digitization of the typeface from old Slovak warning signs. It is an oblique version of Manual Grotesk B, with slightly larger radius of its arcs.
The upright and oblique styles of Manual Grotesk were never used together on a single sign – the upright Manual Grotesk was used to mark streets and buildings and the oblique variant was used exclusively on warning signs.
Because of the size of the letters on these signs – usually they had longer texts – small details and sharp corners were rounded off in the enamel production process. With its soft corners and filled joints, the Manual Pozor Round fonts reproduce this effect – as if the letters were just taken out of the furnace.
