This is Setup Type Lab, a space for pre-release typefaces, unfinished fonts, unreleased custom fonts, sketches, and experiments.

Every font from the Setup Type Lab can be licensed, but please, always carefully review the character set and OpenType feature support before the purchase to make sure the fonts have eveything you need. And if they don’t, just get in touch, I’ll be more than happy to update the fonts.

I’m very good at starting things and notoriously bad at finishing them. Sometimes I’ll archive a project after I do only the necessary amount of work needed by the client, or after I test a momentary idea, sometimes I’ll go beyond and do much more, only to stop just before the finish line. In the end though, there’s always a font that can be used to some extent.

For years, only my friends and long-time clients have had access to this stuff. Whole books, identities, and campaigns have been designed using these fonts, and with each of these projects, I was asked to develop the fonts a little further. That’s why I’ve decided to use all this external motivation and make these fonts available to anyone, hopefully helping me to finish them a little sooner.
