About Face

A display typeface for the About Face, NZ chain of skin therapy clinics in New Zealand. The design process started with a redrawing of the original wordmark, which was followed by an expansion of the character set into a full font. The construction of the stencilled glyphs is based on Didone capitals, the missing strokes and serifs aim to capture the sense of transformation from one state into another.
